Support LTCC Students Through the Emergency Relief Fund
The Foundation for California Community Colleges awarded LTCC a $10,000 grant to launch an emergency fund to support students impacted by the Caldor Fire. LTCC awarded these funds to current students who live or work in the Caldor Fire evacuation zone, and who experienced unexpected out-of-pocket expenses and lost wages during the mandatory evacuation.
While the $10,000 grant helped some students, it did not meet all requests from students who were negatively impacted by the fire. Students are continuing to experience financial hardship due to the continuing effects of the Caldor Fire and Covid-19. The goal is to raise an additional $30,000, so students can afford to stay in school, focus on their studies and complete their degree.

An investment in LTCC students is an investment in Lake Tahoe's future
The board members of the Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation believe all students have the right to pursue higher education regardless of income and background. The Foundation supports students through programs like the Lake Tahoe College Promise, emergency book fund and Student Success Grants so students can stay in school and focus on their studying to degree completion.
An investment in education at Lake Tahoe Community College is an investment in the future of Lake Tahoe. Your contribution will inspire students' hope for tomorrow and foster optimism and direction for future generations.
The Foundation is supplementing available public dollars to support students who are attending Lake Tahoe Community College full time for the first time. This Promise is for all California residents, graduates of Tahoe Basin high schools in California and Nevada (certain zip codes apply) and Nevada Dreamers too! The goal is to provide tuition, fees, counseling and book cost support so students successfully graduate within two years.
Spend a delightful summer evening strolling through the LTCC Demonstration Garden, enjoying live music, area wineries’ finest varietals, an excellent array of beers from local breweries, and a sampling of tasty treats from Lake Tahoe restaurants.
For many community college students, lack of money prevents them from continuing school and earning a degree. The scholarship contribution you make enables students to focus on their studies by removing the worry of how are they going to pay for their classes or textbooks. Your gift also provides encouragement: the knowledge that someone else cares enough to invest in them, and that often is the key to their success.
Student Success Grants cater to LTCC departments, full-time and adjunct faculty, and staff whose projects enhance student learning. These grants are intended to support student access, retention, and successful course completion. Staff, faculty, and departments use the grants to purchase educational materials, help fund field trips or other events that budgets cannot accommodate, and otherwise support student learning.
The plaza, located between the Physical Education building and the soccer field, serves as an important gathering place funded by those who care about college spirit. Your donation to the Coyote Legacy plaza supports students and commemorates your family, friends, graduate, professor, and/or business on a custom brick paver placed in the plaza.
